Let ChatGPT use a mailbox you control.
Let ChatGPT email customers without giving it access to your personal email account. Create a separate agent mailbox, connect it through MCP, and choose the email actions it may use.
For people and teams who want ChatGPT to handle an agent-owned address without connecting their everyday mailbox.
Add Connect as a remote MCP app in ChatGPT
Use ChatGPT’s supported custom app flow for the workspace and surface you actually use.
Create a Connect mailbox
Sign in to Stacksona Connect and make a mailbox for the ChatGPT agent. You can use an address such as agent@sendsona.com; your configured mailbox domain determines the final address.
Open ChatGPT app settings
In a ChatGPT account that allows custom MCP apps, open Settings → Apps → Advanced settings and enable developer mode if your workspace requires it. Choose Create app.
Enter the server and authentication
Give the app a clear name and description, enter the Connect MCP URL, and choose OAuth authentication. ChatGPT opens Connect so you can sign in and grant mailbox scopes.
Review the tools before using them
Inspect the tools ChatGPT makes available, install or add the app to the workspace as required, then use it in a new conversation. Begin with a permission check before asking it to access messages.
ChatGPT gets the address you made for the agent.
Your existing email account stays out of the authorization flow. The Connect app receives access only to the agent mailbox and scopes you approve during sign-in. You can start with read and draft permissions and add sending later with fresh consent.
- Access depends on ChatGPT account, workspace policy, and the MCP surface in use.
- The set of tools ChatGPT shows can be narrower than the scopes Connect grants.
- A custom app can be removed from ChatGPT and its mailbox connection revoked in Connect.
Keep sending accountable to your mailbox rules.
Connect applies your contact and communication policies when a message is sent. A new or unapproved recipient can trigger a human decision. Approval is tied to the exact message that was reviewed, so the agent cannot silently change the recipient or content after approval.
- Use a draft-first workflow while you learn how the agent behaves.
- Review the available tools in the ChatGPT app before enabling sending.
- Scheduled ChatGPT runs should be treated as read/report unless your tested surface supports more.
ChatGPT app access and workspace behavior
Does ChatGPT need my Gmail password?
No. ChatGPT signs in to Stacksona Connect and gets permission for the separate agent mailbox. It is not authorized to log into your personal email.
Can I use this with any ChatGPT plan?
Custom MCP app availability and write tools depend on the ChatGPT surface, workspace controls, and account eligibility. Check the Apps settings in your account; do not assume a plan alone enables sending.
Can a scheduled ChatGPT task send replies?
Connect’s current scheduled confirmation is limited to read/report for ChatGPT. Do not rely on scheduled sending unless the exact ChatGPT feature and tools have been tested in your workspace.
Connect ChatGPT to its own inbox
Create a mailbox first, then add the remote MCP app in a supported ChatGPT workspace.
